Two Door Cinema Club
Venue – Tripod, Dublin
Date – 8th December 2010
I was shooting for MCD again (Thanks Shonagh!) and was delighted to be shooting this gig. I’ve been a big fan of TDCC since their debut album released and being a fellow Nordie their’s a certain element of pride.
Before they even came on stage the crowd were going mad. Treated to two warm up acts and some pretty up tempo dance music in the breaks had them limbered up for a good show. Two Door Cinema Club didn’t disappoint. Playing practically every song from their album and with a few extra tracks including an unheard one (at least for Dublin anyway) they gave the crowd plenty to enjoy. Their songs are all pretty short and sweet and considering they only have the one album of material it wasn’t the longest gig in the world but it was good while it lasted.
This was my first time shooting in the Tripod. Tight little squeeze in that pit along with the other photographers but we all minded each other and did our best not to get in the way of each other and the crowd – who I have to say are the friendliest bunch yet, chatting away to me as I stood in the pit beforehand and later on. One girl even came over to ask if I could help her with a camera problem – I tried but it was useless. Compact cameras and gigs are not best friends.
Here’s a small selection from the night or if you click here or on any of the images you’ll be taken to a larger slideshow.
