The Green Room Bar, otherwise known as the closest bar to Dublin’s O2, has been holding a cracking competition over the past few weeks to find a resident pianist for their swanky and sophisticated venue.
Four heats were held from July to early September with a winner from each heat going through to the final. On Friday night past those 4 contenders battled it out. Each of them giving it their all to try and impress the judges. The crowd loved every minute of it and each contender was given plenty of encouragement and support.
Rob Deering got the judges vote and as his name was read out Rob was a bit stunned, the crowd went mad, the other finalists congratulated him, Rob was still a bit stunned but it’s okay – mum was there for a big hug and all was well.

Rumour has it that it wont be long before The Green Room runs a whole new competition – Battle of the Strings – to find Dublin’s best guitarist.
