I’ve seen grooms being blown away by how gorgeous their bride looks as they walk down the aisle but what happened on Saturday past at Aoife and John’s wedding beats all.

Our beautiful bride Aoife had just walked down the aisle to see John waiting for her. As they greeted each other with huge smiles they approached the priest. The priest began.

“Before we start we’ll just get the legalities out of the way. So I’ll ask, do you John, declare that as far as you know, there is no lawful impediment to your proposed marriage with Aoife here present, and that you call all here present to witness that you take her as your lawful wife.”

John thought for a second.

John – “…..I don’t”

Priest (slight pause) “John, the answer is ‘I do’..”

The whole place fell about laughing. Never mind the guests, it took the priest a good 30 seconds to compose himself before he could talk again! John was obviously not able to think straight after seeing his gorgeous Aoife walk toward him.

One of the best starts to any ceremony I’ve ever witnessed. Hilarious stuff. Needless to say, they got married
