A few months back when walking around Urban Outfitters I bought this album.

I didn’t really know what I was buying to be honest but the little review card next to the cd said that they were a band to watch out for. That was good enough for me as it turned out be a super purchase. I remember the drive back from the store that day with my sister Rosie and the two of us were having a great laugh dancing away in the car for the first couple of tracks from the album. It’s been a firm favourite ever since.

When I saw that Sleigh Bells were due to play in Whelans on MCD’s website I knew it would be a great gig. I wasn’t wrong. It was utterly bonkers. Right from the start they gave it everything they had. Alexis, the singer loved the up close and personal approach I can tell you that. Basically getting face to face with most of the fans in the front row. I wish I’d come away with better shots in all honestly but it was incredibly hard to shoot. Constant strobe lights make it nigh on impossible to find a focus point and incredibly difficult to meter light but I just made sure to take plenty and hope that pot luck would take it’s course.

I took a couple of videos too and they’re at the bottom of this post. Do not judge them based on the sound quality of these videos – they are here purely to give you an idea of how mental it was
