Sheila and Eoin at Killashee House

Think of the smiliest couple you can picture. Got it? Well not quite, because now imagine them with even bigger, brighter and more infectious smiles. If you’ve managed it then well done. If you’re still having trouble fear not because Sheila and Eoin are here and they paint the perfect picture of a very, very happy couple.
They got married just a few weeks ago and what a treat it was to be there to photograph their day. They have the loveliest personalities and within minutes of being in their company you want to be their best friend.
Both houses that morning were full of lots of laughter and smiles as these guys do not do ‘stressed’. Eoin was Mr. Relaxed (not his real surname) and taking everything in his half naked stride (he’ll understand) with that ever constant smile across his face.
Sheila was equally chilled but decided on wearing more clothes than Eoin. As I arrived she was sitting having her hairpiece fitted and looked stunning. There was no rushing around or clock watching. Quite the opposite actually. Instead I was being told to put the camera down and get tucked into a plate of sandwiches that I can only imagine was made by someone who thought there was about to be a nuclear fallout. I gave it my all.
The church ceremony was lovely and a big part of that is owed to the priest. When it was discovered that some rather important documents were missing he made sure that the show went ahead (trust me, I’ve heard stories of weddings getting canceled for such things) and with plenty of jokes and light hearted fun thrown in. Something I’ll never forget is when I was photographing Sheila coming down the aisle I could hear him say quite loudly to Eoin “Ohhh, that’s different, a bride wearing black!”. Haha brilliant. Glad to report that all paper work was retrieved and everything was made official before we headed off to Killashee House for what turned out to be a glorious afternoon. I’d never been in the old part of Killashee before and I have to say I thought it was really gorgeous. Big high ceilings and beautiful décor make it a very swanky place to be a wedding guest. A nice touch that I should mention is that they put their wedding cake (or should I say tower of cupcakes) out during the drinks reception so that people could help themselves. It’s a much better idea I thought than having cake after dinner as most people are already stuffed and the word “cake” is only likely to induce instant comas.
Mind you, it wouldn’t have been an issue at this wedding anyway as we had the utterly awesome and best wedding band ever Soul Purpose to kick off the party. I flipping love this band. They sound so good, their music is perfect for all ages and they get the floor filled in an instant. Exactly what you want from a wedding band. However, this wasn’t going to be the only band playing tonight because Eoin is lead guitarist and vocalist in his own band Fighting For Jane and when Soul Purpose took their half time interval on came FFJ to a rousing reception to play their latest track “Never”. Awesome! The night couldn’t have gotten much better at this stage so it was time for me to put the camera away and slip out via the buffet table. What?…. I had a long drive ahead of me..
Thanks so much to Shelia and Eoin for an utterly brilliant day and for being so much fun to be around. Best friends?
