Real Wedding – Victoria and Andrew

This is a wedding I’ve been really looking forward to sharing. It’s Victoria and Andrew’s wedding from back in early January. Some of you may remember a shot of Victoria wading across a field, her dress hiked up above her knees revealing her yellow and black wellies – a shot I loved so much that it’s also on my homepage as one of the welcome images.

Their day was pretty full on, like nothing I’d shot before or since. Two ceremonies and three shoot locations for portraits and family shots. If I’d come away with bad images from this wedding well I’d have been best to just hang up the camera for good. Lucky for me, I think I did okay.

The day started with preparation shots with Victoria and her family at their Ardmore home and then down to The Cliff House Hotel where Andrew and his groomsman were keeping themselves busy trying to attach their buttonholes – with not a lot of success it has to be said but with plenty of laughs.

The first ceremony was in The Cliff House Hotel. Our bride was super cool and calm when there was a bit of a hiccup to get things started but once things got underway it was all plain sailing and not a moment was wasted. After the ceremony I rode in the car with Victoria and Andrew as we went up to the old Watchtower for a couple of shots (where the wellie shot was taken) before going straight back into the town for the blessing in the beautiful St Pauls Church. Only lit by candles and one bright light at the top of the ceiling it was like something from a movie. I can only hope I did the place justice.

After we went up to the ruins at the Roundtower and then on to Goat Island for some more portraits. This day was flat out but lots of fun as there was so much happening. By the time we got back to the hotel it was pitch dark so we really did use every ounce of available light we could.

I can’t thank Victoria and Andrew enough enough for what really was a super day. From the word go I was made so welcome and even though there was hardly a minutes rest, the day didn’t feel like work with these two. Everything was just so effortless and lots of fun. Be prepared to scroll for quite some time…

Here’s what Victoria and Andrew had to say

I was home in Dublin this weekend so we got the albums. I just want to say they are absolutely stunning. We are very happy with them and it was worth the wait! Honestly, I cant speak more highly of them- they are so different, being in book form and the pictures are so clear even after being printed onto paper. Everyone Ive shown thinks theyre like something out of “Vogue” or “Hello!.”

Thank you so much Dave. We would recommend you highly to anyone.
