Real Wedding – Niamh and Hamish

Back on the day when Wills and Kate tied the knot in that very intimate little wedding in London, I was shooting the wedding that really should have been getting beamed around the planet. Super cool couple Niamh and Hamish had the most amazing day. Everything was perfect. The weather, the fashion, the locations. Everything was just spot on. Mind you, I knew this was going to be one very tasteful yet super trendy wedding. Niamh is a textile designer – if fact ladies, if you’ve purchased anything from Topshop recently, you could well be wearing one of Niamh’s designs. Now that is cool right there. Just wait until you see the bridesmaids dresses – all Niamh’s work.
As for Niamh’s dress – well, it has to be the nicest dress I’ve seen yet. It’s not just vintage style, it’s vintage! Proper 1950′s dress that she picked up second hand. I love short dresses like this and short veils. They are so sweet and are great for showing off the shoes – and let’s face it, the shoes are just as important. I loved her theme of green throughout that matched her gorgeous ring (an heirloom from Hamish’s granny).
After what really was such a sweet ceremony with a lot of laughs I went with Niamh and Hamish to a beautiful scenic spot just up the road from Niamh’s house in Muff, Co. Cavan. (please see the wedding favours…). The views were breathtaking and on a clear day you can see about 50 miles in all directions. Stunning. After a quick stop there it was onto Clonabreany House. Quite honestly one of the nicest venues I’ve ever been to and without doubt the most helpful and friendly staff. A lovely bunch who couldn’t do more to accomodate me – I can only imagine how helpful they must have been to Niamh and Hamish. The place really is the last word with so many little details dotted throughout the house. As for the function room, well, as any wedding photograpgher will tell you, they don’t come better than marquees.
I really loved shooting this wedding as there was just so much to photograph - even the guests were great to shoot – a mainly London based crowd full of real hipsters who know how to party!
Thanks again to Niamh and Hamish who really were so brilliant to photograph. Loved your day!
