Linda and James

At long last. A new real wedding post. I just checked back through my archives and it’s over two months since my last ‘Real Wedding’ post! That’s just ridiculous. So I’m going to make up for it right now.

The reason the blog has been rather sparse as of late is for a few reasons. Firstly, July through September has been hectic. Continuous weddings, the odd music gig and my first proper holiday in over two years has put paid to having the time needed to put together a real wedding post. My biggest problem is that when I do these real weddings posts I feel I write too much (I’m doing it again aren’t I?). So, from today things are gonna change around here. There is going to me more real weddings posts, with just as many photographs, if not more, but an awful lot less writing. After all, it’s a photography blog and I’m much better with the photos than the words.

So, with the apologies and excuses out of the way. Here goes.

This is the gorgeous wedding of Linda and James which took place back at the end of July. They both got ready in the absolutely gorgeous Bellinter House, which immediately moved into my top 3 venues to shoot at. It’s so gorgeous inside and out. The rooms have massive high ceilings with big long windows which let in lots of light. The rest of the house is just fabulous with an amazing staircase (actually, make that two amazing staircases) and rooms finished to an amazing standard mixing old with new. Totally out of this world.

They got married just up the road in the Rathfeigh church, which was the first time I’d shot there. (Oddly I was back there the very next day for another wedding and about a month later for another!) It’s a beautiful little church and no surprise that the girls over at OneFabDay included it their blog post “The most beautiful church in Ireland?“.

Linda and James, as you’ll soon see are a stunning couple. Super laid back attitudes and a great sense of humour. Even though it rained practically all day the smiles never left their faces. It’s obvious that in Ireland, a lot of brides and grooms worry about the threat of rain – all I can say is that, if it wasn’t for the rain that day then I would not have got what could be my favourite wedding photo ever – taken when Linda was being ushered from the hotel to the car. The picture even made the front page of the Irish Independent’s wedding supplement back in August! I shouldn’t say this, but I love it.

I’d actually shot the wedding of two friends of Linda and James’, Marie and Tony, back in January so it was great to see them again and so many familiar faces as they share a lot of the same friends. Word of mouth is a great thing in this business and it’s lovely when it allows you to meet up with some people you know every so often.

Anyway – I can feel that I’m starting to type way to much already and this is supposed to be the turning of a new leaf. So, I’ll just let the photographs speak for themselves.

Oh, one last note – what a bunch of good looking guests!?
