Barry and Aisling at Lough Rynn

I hope that scroll wheel on your mouse is in good working order because this blog post long. Very long!

I’m being totally honest when I say that I tried to keep this post as trimmed as possible but I just couldn’t help but show more and more from this brilliant day with Barry and Aisling.

Barry and Aisling – or ‘Bashing’ as they’re now affectionately known, got married on an amazingly (and has been what turned out to be very rare)  beautiful day back in April (I still cannot believe it was that long ago!) The sun was splitting the stones prompting me even to hope that it wasn’t going to be this warm all summer otherwise I’ll not cope! I needn’t have worried.

Right from the off I was made at home. As soon as I arrived with Barry I was told to put the camera away, and sit down for a big breakfast served up by our very own chef in the kitchen. I duly obliged – sure you never know when you’ll get fed again ;)

Over at Aisling’s just down the road she was being kept busy in the hair and makeup chair with The Bridal Lounge‘s Aoife Callaghan on make-up and Michelle Grimes from COM Hair Salon on hair. They’re some double act and helped to keep things nice and breezy. Then again, this bride was the picture of calm as she sat in the hot seat all she seemed to do was smile have a laugh with those around her.

Outside waiting in the drive was an old orange VW campervan (I thought it might have been ‘Maisie’ the same one that was used by Nij and Tara – it wasn’t) and an old gold VW Beetle. The van was for the bridesmaids and the Beetle was for Aisling and her father. Now that’s what I called travelling in style. I remember as I drove behind them I took a photo with my iphone and tweeted it. (once I’d parked of course! Never tweet and drive folks!) A reply came back to say “You get all the cool couples!” – Yes…. Yes I do J

After the ceremony and champagne spraying and heel breaking (you’ll see..) it was off to the pretty spectacular Lough Rynn for the reception. What a venue. It’s gorgeous and has such fabulous grounds which after taking some family shots we we’re all happy to explore – and we could go as far as we liked because we had a guy waiting to take us back on the golf buggy. Bonus!

Barry and Aisling kitted a little table out with an old polaroid camera, various dodgy disguises and a guest book to allow guests to snap themselves in all sorts of incriminating poses. Nice alternative to an official photobooth stand and probably a lot cheaper to boot.

The speeches were hilarious with one very odd reference to an incredibly large tub of sudocream which to this day I’m still non the wiser about but it had the room in convulsions which in turn got me laughing anyway.

All in all this was one brilliant day to be a part of and it’s definitely a wedding I’d love to have been a guest at. Such a great bunch of people that all had such an obvious affection for each other.

Barry and Aisling thanks again so much for choosing me to capture your day for you. It was nothing but an absolute pleasure.

Here’s what Barry and Aisling had to say

Dave is amazing! He brilliantly captured the look and the feel of our wedding in his photos. We cannot recommend him highly enough. Great guy. Super photos. Fantastic memories!
