Anne-Marie and John at An Grianan

You may have seen a couple of shots from this wedding before – the little page boy photographer or the shot of the silhouetted couple on my homepage. However, this wedding has so much more to show, so here you go!
With the beautiful backdrop of Donegal to work with this was always going to be a lovely wedding to photograph. I remember the day well, cold but gorgeous. With plenty of big thunderous clouds in the sky the light was soft and perfect for photography. Anne-marie got ready in a great big guest house overlooking the Swilly. Even though there was plenty of people milling about the atmosphere seemed calm as everyone was well spread out and busy with their own little jobs. Even the flower girl had her own job, which to my surprise was to slap me on the bum when I was least expecting it. Oh how we all laughed.
Anne-Marie was a picture of calm and her bridesmaids were on hand with plenty of joking around and messing, ensuring that things never got too serious.
At the church John looked as smart as smart can be. With his lovely three piece suit he cut a fine but slightly nervous figure at the end of the aisle. Those nerves were wiped out in a second though as he took one look at Anne-Marie, picked his jaw up off the floor and from there on the pair of them just couldn’t stop looking at each other and smiling. The ceremony was lovely (not to mention the gorgeous and slightly unusual church interior!) and super sweet with lots of really heartfelt readings by close friends and family.
Afterwards the bridal party and I braved the elements and headed to Lisfannon beach for a few shots. Trust me, it was a lot colder than it looks! How Anne-marie and her bridesmaids managed to smile through the bracing wind is beyond me but they did it nevertheless. We kept the things down at the beach short and sweet so that we could all head back to the reception at An Grianan, get warmed up and just enjoy the rest of evening. And enjoy it they did!
A massive thanks to Anne-marie and John for allowing me to share this wedding. You guys were super and an absolute joy to shoot. John – man you can dance!

You had some competition at this wedding (can you believe that guy who got in the way of the getting ready shot!) but I’m sure you had the best photos by far! Lovely Dave!

Love her purple shoes, love the photograph of the little kids playing with the camera and the little girl, exasperated, waiting patiently for him to figure out how to turn on the flash…brilliant!

Yay, a blog
What an honour. Thanks again Dave for such an amazing job capturing the day, we couldnt be happier with the pics and the album! Id forgotten about Chloe and the (completely unprovoked) arse slapping! I was a slightly disturbed but secretly quite proud Auntie! Will be something to slag her about in her teenage years! Im still on for a trash the dress sometime if I ever manage to shift the honeymoon flab enough to fit into it again!
