As it’s Easter I thought I’d try and make my own eggs. Needless to say, it’s been a disaster… I bought an egg so that I’d have the plastic moulds but the egg I bought didn’t come with plastic moulds! Doh! So, instead I took the egg, cracked it open and instead have decided to fill it with all sorts of goodness. I melted chocolate with chilli, added a pinch of salt then crushed up a selection of nuts (pistachio, cashew, pecan and walnut) with another pinch of salt (what?), and then… crushed up my own homemade honeycomb. Yessiereee! Super easy too, just add butter, caster sugar and syrup to a pan and let it boil. Then at the last second add baking soda and watch it bubble up and take shape, add to a cold baking try and hey presto, you’ll have fresh homebade sticky and gorgeous honeycomb.
So, to celbrate that bubbly goodness heres that honeycomb in all it’s moving glory…
