Helen and Damien

I’d say you all thought I must have stopped doing weddings based on the lack of wedding posts over the last three months or so. Well, you’re now looking at the very reason for that silence.
My new site has been in development and I wanted to make sure that the next wedding I brought to you was in all its shining glory. Much wider landscape images and taller portraits for you to feast your eyes on.
So – here we go. Helen and Damien – I told you this day would come – eventually!
Helen and Damien (Damon Hill lookalike!) had a gorgeous wedding last year on a beautifully crisp day in November. It was my second time back at the Mount Falcon, where both Helen and Damien were getting ready. The place is the last word. I love all their little details dotted here and there that make you stop and say “that’s a nice little touch”. Then of course there’s the smell – of toasty log fires that just clings to you. Love it.
Helen looked the perfect picture. Her dress was stunning and I loved the way the light would shine through the edges adding a soft golden glow. A photographers dream. Damien looked quar and smart too. I love a nice sharp suit and Damien wears it well.
After the ceremony Helen, Damien and I went to a little scenic spot between the church and reception for some shots of just the two of them. Damien drove (like a maniac, but then he has got a lookalike reputation to live up to!) himself and Helen which I thought was really lovely. As we got out of our cars the light just changed in some way – it was quite incredible.
The day just flew by and Helen and Damien made me feel so welcome. Thanks so much for having me there to shoot your day and thanks again for your patience on waiting for this blog post – hopefully it was worth the wait!

Here’s what Helen and Damien had to say.
The first time I heard of Dave’s photography skills was when a friend in work said ‘there are not words to express how highly I recommend him’. And sure enough, he lived up to his reputation on our wedding day last November. Professional, reliable, creative and yet relaxed and unobtrusive.. and most importantly, the man takes a mean photo! We were absolutely delighted with our wedding album and will treasure it for years to come.
