Best wedding music ever?

One of the things I see a lot of when shooting weddings is church musicians and wedding bands. For a while now I’ve been taking note of the ones that I feel are just that little bit different and have that something special to make them stand out. I’ve listed them here.

At the wedding I shot on Friday, I saw the best of both.

Music from the Gods – Maynooth Gospel Choir.

At the church was the Maynooth Gospel Choir. Never ever have I heard singing in the church that has raised a smile on so many faces. Amazing Grace has never sounded so… well… amazing! I wished later that I had set my camera to video and recorded some footage to share here. You can find them here though – http://www.maynoothgospel.com/pro and there is a ton of videos on youtube if you search for Maynooth Gospel Choir.

As for the ‘wedding band’. They’re called Rhythm Culture and they were just incredible. I didn’t want to make the same mistake by not recording some footage, so this time the camera was flicked to video and I recorded a couple of songs. The sound recording directly off the camera isn’t great, especially as I was so close to the speakers, however you can see they really put a lot into their performances.

This first video is their performance of Katy Perry’s Hot n Cold and the second is Kids by MGMT.
