A little wedding video experiment

On Easter Sunday I shot the wedding of Claire and Telford at Brooklodge in county Wicklow. For the second time, Dee joined me but this time she wasn’t going to be second shooting, instead she was going to take lots of footage in a 8mm style to allow us try a little experiment.
Yesterday I gathered all of that footage together and edited together this little video.
It’s definitely not perfect and there is loads of room for improvement. We didn’t have complete freedom on the day as there was another set of videographers there and the last thing we wanted was to get in their way as they are being paid to make their video. So for a lot of the time Dee stood back and let everyone else get on with it. For example, the church at Brooklodge is tiny and as there was two video cameras setup plus myself there really wasn’t room for a 4th person so Dee just held back completely hence very little footage from the ceremony. All in all though it’s not bad and for a first attempt we’re really happy. There’s no plans to add this as an additional extra as yet but if there is demand for it then who knows
A big thanks goes out to Claire and Telford for allowing us to try this and also to Ali Tully from Ali’s Weddings for not getting mad at us

This video is a little bit of magic Dave. Candid, happy and artistic. I usually log out of wedding videos after the first minute due to complete boredom. However, watched this the whole way through. Smashing!

I agree that I watched the whole thing and usually wouldn’t – really happy little video and if Craig wants to marry my again we’d hire you!

Loved this – so relaxed, happy and natural, would love to see the un-edited version!
