A drive to Waterford and my new best friend.

On Sunday night I made what was a treacherous journey from Dublin to my girlfriends in Waterford. I wouldn’t wish that journey on anyone. Especially from Kilkenny onwards. We were down to one lane and 50kph. No-one dared go out onto the overtaking lane and rightly so.
We choose to drive down in the afternoon so that we’d be doing as much of the journey as possible in daylight, however that was soon neither here nor there as the freezing fog set in, the sun looked moonlike through the mist and the temp went from 0 down to -6 in a matter of miles and water from the washer jets froze instantly as it hit the wind screen (trust me, I tried to buy antifreeze but everywhere was sold out).
Even with all the stress of this journey though, it was a beautiful drive and views both left and right were breathtaking. I kept thinking to myself – I should really pull over and take some photographs but you’ll have to forgive me as getting home was my only priority.
On pulling up at the girlfriends house though I had to take this. The place looked gorgeous. With the snow untouched I parked the car at the end of the driveway, got out the tripod and took this.

The next day – I managed to get some antifreeze and while out at the car I had a little friend come to watch as I topped up the cars in the driveway. He was quite happy to get really close and eventually I called inside for my camera. What a little fatty he is
